As
self-proclaimed delegate of the group I started, MrazWomen, I requested
Jason Mraz to say hey on camera to the rest of my girls who couldn't
make it to the show, and he gladly said yes!
Pardon my loud woohoo. Obviously I was too excited to keep calm. :P

Hey hey ladies! Been awhile since you've heard from me, super sorry :(
In any case, last week I had a solo at my school's end-of-the-year Song and Dance Extravaganza, "Trojanantics". The song is you don't own me, and I had the second solo.
Thought I'd give it a post, because A) I promised some people, namely Sasha, I would. and B) I wouldn't even be singing if it weren't for the immense inspiration from JM.
Again, I'll post when I get the chance!
Much love,
Lisey

Just thought I'd share a song that I've been replaying tons on my iTunes lately.
"A Long Road to Forgiveness" by Brett Dennen, featuring Mraz (duh).
The version I'm posting is from an iTunes live session. I prefer this one to the official album one.
In joy,
~Sasha~

Since I love all things Canadian and Jason Mraz, my friend told me about her current favourite Canadian, Coeur de Pirate and her cover of I'm Yours. This is the song that got me started on my Jason Mraz obsession and is the song that reminds everyone who knows me, of me (even if they don't want to be reminded).

I thought I'd share it with all of you cos Coeur de Pirate and Pixie Lott sound do an amazing job and I wish I could do the song justice (even a teeny ounce out of this performance) every time I sing it.

Synopsis: Tall Trees is an internet sensation. Manila-dwelling indie rockers Glen Willow (lead guitar), Mackenzie “Mac” Birch (keyboards) and billy puno (bass) immediately got on the Youtube and Facebook bandwagon, put their music up on their website, and were pleasantly surprised at how viral their stuff has proven to be. Now, at the peak of their six-month climb to the top of people’s music playlists, they have decided to come out with an official album and perform live in Manila for the first time.
PS: Some parts are in Tagalog language, but it's mostly in English, so you will be able to get the gist through context clues.

I really love the surprise effect.. So it's not a secret I am the shuffle kinda girl.
Whenever i hear music -that is not Tristan Prettyman.. dude, don't know what's wrong with me but i just can't listen anything else lately! I love her SO much- on my itouch i like to make lists with a certain mood -cause i wanna get surprised not depressed when i'm going to school- and then shuffle thru.
The point is this morning i was on the bus with my coffee and my happy list ready on my way to school and i got surprised with a song i haven't heard in a really long time. That kind of songs that make you SMILE, you know what i mean? Maybe the lyrics or the melody.. there's something that feels like fresh, like summer, like happy.
So I had an idea.. Since i L O V E this kind of songs i thought you guys could help me and make a little music-exchange-party and tell me which are the ones that make YOU smile.
This is how:
Post the song (youtube video) with the lyrics and why it makes you smile. If there's a story behind i def wanna know :). Label it under "smile tracks" so i -and everyone else- can find them easily. OH and it'll be amazing if they're not Mraz-related since, well.. ALL OF THEM MAKE ME SMILE! hahaha
Would you like to? I'd love to hear all your suggestions and i'm so ready to download them all. I want the longest Smile Tracks List everr.
Ok, here's my first one. The one i listened this morning and made me so freaking happy.
The Song: Put Your Records On - Corinne Bailey Rae
Why: Her voice. The melody. THE LYRICS! Is such an inspirational song and it sounds like she was smiling while recording. I can't explain why, i just instanly smile without even knowing.
Three little birds, sat on my window.
And they told me I don't need to worry.
Summer came like cinnamon
So sweet,
Little girls double-dutch on the concrete.
Maybe sometimes, we've got it wrong, but it's alright
The more things seem to change, the more they stay the same
Oh, don't you hesitate.
Girl, put your records on, tell me your favourite song
You go ahead, let your hair down
Sapphire and faded jeans, I hope you get your dreams,
Just go ahead, let your hair down.
You're gonna find yourself somewhere, somehow.
Blue as the sky, sunburnt and lonely,
Sipping tea in a bar by the roadside,
(just relax, just relax)
Don't you let those other boys fool you,
Got to love that afro hair do.
Maybe sometimes, we feel afraid, but it's alright
The more you stay the same, the more they seem to change.
Don't you think it's strange?
Girl, put your records on, tell me your favourite song
You go ahead, let your hair down
Sapphire and faded jeans, I hope you get your dreams,
Just go ahead, let your hair down.
You're gonna find yourself somewhere, somehow.
'Twas more than I could take, pity for pity's sake
Some nights kept me awake, I thought that I was stronger
When you gonna realise, that you don't even have to try any longer?
Do what you want to.
Girl, put your records on, tell me your favourite song
You go ahead, let your hair down
Sapphire and faded jeans, I hope you get your dreams,
Just go ahead, let your hair down.

Here's a random video post of Jason's song, "I Want My House Back" since today is Superbowl Sunday! The first time I heard this, I cracked up. It's a really old podcast...but either way, I find it hilarious! xD As he says, PARENTAL GUIDANCE IS SUGGESTED. Just a heads up.
